WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series today announced shortlist of candidates for the first ever Golden Arrows Legacy Award, recognising lasting positive impact beyond competition. AON Racing is the only team on the list, with the season long effort to provide team needs and more with solar power, offset travel emissions and effort to make trails trash free.
Today’s WBD Sports press release said this about our efforts: “AON Racing has embedded sustainability into its day-to-day race operations, using solar power, travel emissions compensation and fan-led clean-ups to reduce its impact across the season. The team produced 272.44 kWh of renewable electricity through its solar-powered race trailer, generating more power than it consumed across six venues and returning a surplus of 70.7 kWh to the grid. It also compensated 84.3 tonnes of CO2 in 2026 through renewable energy certificates and offset travel emissions via a Swiss Private Cloud 360-panel solar plant, while partnering with Trash Free Trails to deliver “Trash Free Racing” clean-ups with fans at four venues.”
AON is only team on the shortlist, the rest of the candidates for the award are LOCs Pal Arinsal, Saalfelden Leogang, Nové Mĕsto Na Moravĕ and Les Gets, all with great efforts and campaigns.
Legacy Award will be announced on the Golden Arrows event in Lake Placid, together with the awards for Event of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Best Professional Photograph.
